Challenge 139 — Week 4: Search Me, Lord

🌸 CHALLENGE 139 🌸

Known. Loved. Chosen. • Mind • Body • Soul

August 22–28, 2026 | Psalm 139:19–24

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.”

Psalm 139:23 KJV

We have celebrated being known, surrounded, and wonderfully made. Now Week Four asks us to respond with courage: “Search me, Lord.” This is not a request for God to discover something He does not know. It is our willingness to let Him reveal what we may not recognize in ourselves.

Psalm 139:19–22 also contains strong words about evil. Rather than using them to justify bitterness toward people, we will let them challenge us to reject what opposes God while allowing Him to examine our own hearts. Real transformation requires both discernment and humility.

🌸 Our Seven-Day Journey

Day 22 — August 22: Reject What Pulls Me From God

Read Psalm 139:19. Ask God for discernment to recognize influences, habits, and attitudes that oppose His work in you.

Reflect: What consistently pulls your heart away from peace, truth, or obedience?

Day 23 — August 23: Honor God With My Words

Read Psalm 139:20. Words can misuse God’s name or misrepresent His character.

Action: Before speaking today, pause and ask: “Will these words honor God and help the person hearing them?”

Day 24 — August 24: Discernment Without Bitterness

Read Psalm 139:21. We can stand against evil without allowing hatred to take control of our hearts.

Reflect: Is there a righteous concern that has become personal bitterness? Ask God to purify your response.

Day 25 — August 25: Give Anger to God

Read Psalm 139:22. The psalmist brings intense emotion honestly before God rather than hiding it.

Action: Write an uncensored prayer about what has angered or wounded you. End by surrendering judgment to God.

Day 26 — August 26: Search My Heart

Read Psalm 139:23. Invite God beyond outward behavior and into your motives, desires, and hidden wounds.

Reflect: What reaction this week may be revealing something deeper in your heart?

Day 27 — August 27: Know My Anxious Thoughts

God is not intimidated by anxiety. He invites us to name it and place it in His care.

Action: Take five slow breaths. With each exhale, release one worry to God; with each inhale, receive His peace.

Day 28 — August 28: Lead Me in the Everlasting Way

Read Psalm 139:24. The goal of being searched is not condemnation; it is correction, freedom, and faithful direction.

Reflect: What is one next step God may be asking you to take?
