In the Image of God

Genesis 1:27 KJV

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

You were created in God’s image.  So let’s take a moment to focus on God’s image.  God created us to be the mirror image of Him.

What is the image of God?

The definition of image is a likeness, a resemblance, and a  representation of a person or thing.  We should resemble and represent the Creator & Maker of all creation.  God has a triune nature and He has created us to have the same.  When he created man he wanted to create us in his image and likeness.  You are God’s IMAGE so therefore you should imitate the Maker of all.  Is God emotional, do God show emotion?  Yes He does He feels love, anger, joy, and sorrow.  I soon realized that there is nothing wrong with feelings for God felt something special in creating me.

I used to feel that I would be looked at as weak if I showed emotion through life’s challenges and rollercoasters.  I would hold back tears of joy, frustration, and disappointment, I would feel ashamed and embarrassed.  I did not want to smile too much because no one would understand why I am smiling so much.  I again realized that God created me to have emotion as He does.  So, why refrain from showing an attribute that I inherited from my Father.  How dare I be ashamed of what makes me who I am because of who made me who I am.

Who are you?  or better yet, Whose are you?
