Genesis 1:27 KJV
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created he them.
FOCAL POINT: The Creator vs. The Creation
THE CREATOR
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit–all function together, in sync, and in unison. Although, each are different in responsibility together all have power and they are all God.
God the Father has a responsibility that differs from that of God the Son. They each understand that responsibility and the importance of that role and work together to enhance each role. The fact that all three areas are in sync with each other is why we are who we are today.
Was there ever a time when one part of the trinity did not function? What would have happened to the creation if this happened?
We must understand the creator. As in the M&M segment, I asked a question that I hope you took time to investigate. I even gave you the scripture that speaks volumes about WHO GOD IS?
Genesis 1:1-In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. KVJ
In elementary school, I was taught that when I read a story that I ask the author key questions:
Who? When? Where? What?
The who is clear-God. The when is — in the beginning. The where is not stated but context clues help you to answer this basic question–the where is in a sense “God” ( I will explain). The what is God created heaven and earth. What more is there to know of who or what God is.
So back to the question of the where. The scripture is clear in this verse to me — that there is clearly nothing before the beginning other than God; that God is indeed and in fact the beginning. Nothing coexisted with him that he is the beginning to all creation. God existed when there was nothing. For my brain to fathom what nothing really is I would have to “subtract” all creations that follow after the key words of “In the beginning God”. I think that my brain would explode to try to come to this conclusion.
I will just leave it at the fact that God is the beginning.
THE CREATION
Physical, Spiritual, and Emotional beings: All parts must be in harmony in order to be complete; to be whole. One does not function without all parts functioning together.
Why is it important for them to function as one? A whole? Why did God make all of these aspects of me?
Let’s be honest for just a quick moment. You know as well as I do that when you are an emotional wreck, it affects you physically and spiritually. The effect can be positive or negative. A lack in either of the areas can affect how you respond in the other areas.
There were times that I was juggling kids involved in activities, working in ministry at the church, maintaining my home and all the while feeling sad, overwhelmed, and depressed. My sadness, feelings of overwhelmed, and depression affected my performance in the other areas. I didn’t give it my all because I did not think that I was good enough or that I lacked skill or fortitude to carry out the tasks at hand.
It is very important to be able to function in all areas–Physical, Spiritual, and Emotional. I must be made whole to be effective as a mother, as a wife, and as a ministry leader.
MIND OVER MATTER—
If the creator has fearfully and wonderfully made me then surely I can praise HIM.
Psalms 139:14–I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvelous are thy works that my soul knoweth right well.
