Psalms 139:14 – “I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well.”
FOCUS POINT
What Shape Are You In?
Ask yourself the question, what shape am I in? Physically? Spiritually? Emotionally? Am I complete? Am I a train wreck? Am at in state of mind of peace? Am I going through the “motions” of life? Am I disconnected from family and friends?
The “complete” woman although not perfect, still has a handle on where she stands physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Yes, I said the complete woman is NOT perfect. She is WHOLE. Take a moment to reflect on the scripture, Psalms 139:14.
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”-Psalms 139:14 KJV
We are wonderfully and fearfully made by God. I find this interesting because, he took time to detail us out in His plan. Sometimes in life, we lose focus of who we are as women. Physically-we are unhealthy. Emotionally-we are disengaged, broken, and battered, and Spiritually-we are disconnected from God and His purpose for our life. It is important that we allow God to help us find our way to healing. The path to this healing begins with recognizing the fact that it begins with praise.
It was instilled in me as a young woman that you do not walk with your head down but to walk with your head up. This is not a sign of arrogance but a sign of confidence. Confidence? Yes, confidence. This is a word that we struggle with as women. So let’s start there before we even begin to understand Psalms 139:14.
Why is it so hard for us to activate this thing called CONFIDENCE? We have developed a fear of the word and run from what confidence can offer us. Have we been taught as christian women that we are not the have confidence. The important key of this discussion is that the word is CONFIDENCE and not PRIDE. An additional key point is the WHO the confidence is in?
Confidence not in yourself or your abilities but confidence in the one that made you and gave you the abilities. So how do we do this? We start with discovering who this may be. Let me give you a start-Genesis 1:1. We must discover or re-discover who God is. So let’s do just that.
Who is God?
We have heard people through the course of our life talk about who God is to them or define Him by what he has done for them. But who is HE? No I am serious who is He. I know some one of you are thinking back to those Sunday School lessons from your primary years but there is an entire book that gives a clear description of who God is.–the bible.
So I ask again, Who is God?
To find out who God is –we have to start at the beginning of the story. I am an avid reader and the Bible just like other books establishes the main character in the 1st chapter of the book. You learn so much about the main character. Who they are? Where they are? Whether they are an antagonist or protagonist? What role they play in the story? Why it is important to know the character?
So let’s start there Genesis 1:1.
