A Walking Pattern of Christ

Paul commands the Philippians to conduct themselves or be as soldiers for Christ who march in a line together, organized, each in his proper position. He wanted the Philippians to look at his walk because his walk lined up with Christ. Paul realized since he patterns himself of the exact representation of the original pattern which is Christ, he could be that great example for the people. See the example of Paul’s life is so evident that one can’t help but to see Christ living in him and that he could be that walking pattern for Christ.

As a Disciple of Christ, we must be that walking pattern of Christ. There are those who are looking at us everyday so we should be that example that Christ would be pleased with. The Lord pattern can always be a pattern for living. The Word of God is our spiritual road map that shows us as believers how to walk and live the way God wants us to live.

God is the only one who can cut, shape, and fashion you into His unique design or pattern. When I was writing this I thought about Christ being the True Seamstress who lays the pattern out on the table to get ready and cut the pieces and says “What a beautiful and unique pattern”.

The word walk in this text means your lifestyle. Try not to fall in those sinful desires of your flesh. You have to live step -by -step in the power of the Holy Spirit as He works through you. Walking each moment by faith in the Word of God and under the control of the Spirit assures absolute victory over the desire of our sinful nature.

So be that walking pattern so others might see the Christ in you and want to get to know our Lord and Savior.
