Hey ya’ll, It’s Monday and I know that we all could use some “start to the week” encouragement. Just want to share a little bit of something in my spirit! There is a favorite song of mine called “The Old Rugged Cross” and each time I sing it or each time I hear it – my heart melts. The reason is that I am reminded of our Savior beaten, bruised, and nailed upon that cross for me.
For me as I am today, broken and torn, confused and persecuted; imperfect and impatient. All of Me!
Jesus shows us what selflessness really looks like. He sacrificed all so that we could have it ALL. Life everlasting and heirship to the throne. We cannot allow the problems of life to cause us to forget or to lose focus as to what we ought to be focused on.
We should thank God for that today…thank you Lord for giving your Son on that old rugged cross. Thank you for sacrificing Him so that I could have HOPE!
***excuse me while I sing***
“…On a hill, far away, stood an old rugged cross. The emblem of suffering and shame…”
Ooooooo thank you Jesus!
“…I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it some day for a crown. So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, til my trophies at last I’ll lay down…”
Keep clinging and keep going! Be encouraged – You will make it through this!
