Titus 2:3-5 King James Version (KJV)
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Day 5
Titus II – “That they may teach the young women to be sober…”
A qualification to teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, and to love their children is to be a TEACHER OF GOOD THINGS. Without this qualification you have no right to teach the young women anything.
I won’t lie – I have had older women, in age, and from all walks of life to attempt to teach me what they define to be good. Here is an example:
- Lesson One: I should not be in the House of the Lord with a dress on without panty hose on.
- Lesson Two: If I don’t have white to wear on first Sunday, I should buy me one for next month.
- Lesson Three: *my all-time favorite -as a new Pastor wife I have to have a hat to wear every Sunday and don’t forget to s
Lesson far from the true purpose and focus that God wants us to be in-tune with. If God was focused on pantyhose, white dresses, and hats – that would leave no room for ministry.
We spend so much time focused on the wrong things. When in fact, we should focus on becoming an professor of the Word and then spend time on the delivery of this information to young women.
We will discuss this more in the upcoming days.
Think on these things…
Lord, give me the desire to learn of you that I may be a teacher of things concerning you! Help me to focus on the good things! And to fill my mind with your Words that I may want to share you with others. Lord, open my mind and my perspective that I make room for your lesson plans! Amen!
