Titus II Challenge: Day One

Titus 2:3-5 King James Version (KJV)

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Here we are at a new series to dive into  – this series this will take us to a new level as Christian women.  We must be challenged by the Word of God otherwise, how else would we grow as believers.  The challenge begins today – What challenge you ask?  A challenge to better yourselves.  Let’s give it a try!

Titus II – “Behavior as becometh holiness”

As Christian women, we must have a demeanor that becomes sacred actions of God.  What does this mean?  It means that we should have a clear disposition about ourselves that exhibits attributes similar to that of our elder brother, Jesus Christ.

This “behavior” occurs with a change in:

  • MINDSET
    • It’s true that we can be products of our environments but we don’t have to be.  Changing how you think alters your entire being.  You can change who you are with just one thought.  This can work to your detriment or to your benefit. It’s a mindset.  Philippians 2:5 reminds us to “let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus.”
    • Now that a tough pill to swallow because think of Christ mindset.  You got it a MINISTRY MINDSET.  Change starts with you.
  • MOVEMENT
    • Once you have the mindset change in motion, you cannot help but move.  Have you ever heard the statement that “Your body will follow where your mind leads.
    • Just think about it for a moment, what you fill your head with will be where you physically gravitate to.  Your flesh begins to desire that which the mind has thought of.  Pondering on certain persons, places, or things will eventually lead to you physically appearing.
    • Keep your mind clear of thoughts of old bad habits –before long your feet will begin to travel in that direction.
  • MISSION
    • One word comes to mind – PURPOSE.  Where are you headed?  What are you trying or hoping to accomplish?  Not sure?  then a great start is reading Philippians 2:5 – we should all desire to have the same mission that Jesus Christ had.
    • A mission of servitude and self-less actions.  Begin reading at verse 1 of Philippians 2 to learn the complete mindset of Jesus Christ.

Challenge yourself to maintain a demeanor that reflects God.  With this challenge, there is one main word that comes to mind and that is CHANGE!  This is something that most of us struggle with, but how will you begin your journey of change.

Think on these things…
