Challenge Five: Speak From the Heart

Matthew 12:34 (KJV)

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

O here we go…

Now we get down to some juicy stuff-lol!  We speak from our heart everyday.  It’s interesting that what is within our heart is surely to project out of our mouths in the form of words and sentences.

The real question is “What is in my heart?”-this is the question we must ask ourselves.  What is in my heart?  Do I have hatred towards myself and the creation that God has made or do I have a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving as suggested in Psalms 139:14.

Let’s take a HEART inventory:

H-Have I planted seeds of love and thanksgiving into my heart?

E-Every chance I get, am I reading the Word of God?

A-Am I cultivating the seeds of love and thanksgiving to ensure growth?

R-Remembering the things of God in times of unrest?

T-Taking time to slow down and in some cases stop before speaking?

Asking yourself these questions, if you have concerns of what may be in your heart then start by reading the Word of God daily,  meditating on His Words will plant positive thoughts and feelings into your heart and your lips will project His words.
